There is an urban legend that if a person working for a Japanese company buys a house, he or she will be transferred to another company.

The question is: “Why would you get transferred if you buy a house?” I will explain this.

Some people say that if you buy a house, you have to work hard to pay the mortgage, and you can’t even quit if you get transferred, but that is 100% irrelevant.

People quit whether they have a mortgage or not. There is no doubt about it.

In conclusion, you will buy a house at roughly around the age of 30-40. This is because it is the intersection of career steps and life events.

It’s not mean-spirited or anything.

More to the point.

When you get a boyfriend/girlfriend, you get transferred.

When you get married, you get transferred.

When you have a child, you get transferred.

You were transferred when my child entered nursery school, kindergarten, elementary school, or junior high school.

When you started taking care of my parents, you got transferred.

And so on…you run into many things at this intersection.

You started working at a company with a college degree, and after about 8 to 10 years of experience, you are in your 30s. By then, you are already a core player in the workplace.

The company would like to see them grow and develop further.

The company would like to see them grow even more.

In that case, they will not grow by doing what they can in their current department.

So, they want to change the environment and give them a new experience.

So it is correct.

And one of them is to transfer.

A change in work location is a big change.

As a result, many people grow a lot due to transfers.

In other words, the company expects people to grow and develop more.

I don’t think they will try to stand in other people’s shoes. 

Also, the decision to transfer only those who own a house while those who don’t own one.

In other words, various life events occur after the age of 30.

The company orders transfer for a good reason and with the expectation of growth.

And so it hits a crossroads.

And then, when they hit a crossroads, they are faced with the misfortune of not being able to live in the house they bought or being transferred to another company.

“Our company is terrible!” and loyalty will decline.

In the past, the man was the head of the family, and the wife was a housewife.

But nowadays, the number of dual-earner families is overwhelmingly high.

relocation is a major problem for a couple’s career & life plan.
