Many people have a strong image of “islands” as tourist destinations. In fact, there are many “dangerous” or “scary” islands in the world that you should never visit. Let me introduce to you some of those dangerous islands:
North Sentinel Island
North Sentinel Island is located in the Andaman Islands.
They said that 50 to 400 Sentinelese people live there, but the actual number is unknown. The inhabitants of the island have no relations with the outside world and attacks anyone who come near the island without mercy.
India has banned its citizens from visiting North Sentinel Island or attempting to make contact with the people who live there
In fact, at the time of the Sumatra earthquake, they shot arrows at a helicopter transporting relief supplies and killed an Indian man who had washed ashore by boat. Moreover, they were not even allowed to retrieve the bodies of the murdered Indians.
Bouvet Island
Bouvet Island is located in the sub-Antarctic in the South Atlantic Ocean.
It is called the most isolated island in the world because it takes 1,600 km far from the nearest land (Antarctica).
Not only that, but 93% of the island is glaciated, the coast is covered with steep cliffs, and there is an ice-covered volcanic mouth in the center of the island.
It is extremely difficult and dangerous for humans to enter this island because it is uninhabited.
Ilha da Queimada Grande
Ilha da Queimada Grande is located in Brazil.
It is commonly known as “Snake Island.”
In other words, it is an island full of snakes, and they are highly poisonous.
If you’re going enter the island and get bitten by the snakes, you can die because of its poison. The neighbors are also afraid of this island, and no one lives there.
Poveglia
Poveglia is an island in the lagoon of Venice, Italy.
The island is called the “world’s most haunted place” and is said to be haunted by the ghosts of the plague;an infectious disease, and a military hospital that became a quarantine camp once for patients.
Numerous ghostly phenomena and its bizarre atmosphere has made the island inaccessible to people.
Ramree Island
Ramree Island is located on the northeastern coast of the Bay of Bengal in Myanmar. This island is a home of a large population of crocodiles called Ilie crocodiles, the largest crocodile can grow over 8.5 meters in length, it is not an island that human can enter. It is said to be inhabited not only by crocodiles but also by pathogenic insects and scorpions.
